Discovery of Dainty Glass Slipper at MTR Hong Kong Station Initiates Citywide Search for Rightful Owner
(HONG KONG, August 25, 2005) - A citywide search was initiated today following the mysterious discovery of a single glass slipper on a staircase located at the MTR Hong Kong station.
Authorities have issued a general alert for any information pertaining to the whereabouts of one dainty female named Cinderella, confirmed as the rightful owner of this uniquely styled item of footwear.
Current available details, while sketchy, have confirmed that a female matching Cinderella's description was recently spotted exploring the sights of Central. This was further supported by the fact that Hong Kong Disneyland was not rehearsing for the grand opening today giving all Disney friends a chance to explore their new home some more.
Mr Yuen Hak-wah, Station Manager - Hong Kong Station of the MTR Corporation confirmed being approached by someone fitting the issued description.
"The young lady enquired about the time and then fled towards the Tung Chung Line train saying that she was extremely late and needed to catch the Disneyland Resort Line train for an important engagement at Hong Kong Disneyland," said Mr Yuen.
Meanwhile, a concerned Prince Charming has also confirmed the ownership of the mysterious glass slipper, adding that the owner was most certainly the "princess of his dreams".
Should members of the public spot Cinderella when out and about in Hong Kong, they are requested to take note of the exact time, date and location and write to Prince Charming at glass.slipper@hongkongdisneyland.com. The Prince has promised to reply with a special reply for each message received. (Editors please note this email will be activated from August 26).
The immediate reward for this exceptional kindness in assisting both the relevant authorities and Prince Charming in returning the glass slipper to its royal owner will be nothing less than one's own fairytale existence filled with much kindness, joy and friendship.
Cinderella's glass slipper will be on display for public viewing at the Hong Kong Disneyland Ticket Express located at the Tung Chung Line concourse, MTR Hong Kong Station from Friday, August 26 until Friday, September 9.
Hong Kong Disneyland announced last month the launch of its "Coming Home" campaign, which kicked off on July 17 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the original Disneyland in Anaheim, California. In recent weeks the Coming Home Campaign, has sprung to life across Hong Kong in a series of TV spots, billboards and commemorative posters - and signaled the arrival of Disney's most beloved friends who brought with them 50 years of fun and magic.
The Coming Home Campaign will culminate on September 12, 2005, when the whole world will turn its attention to Hong Kong Disneyland - the very first Disney theme park in China - for a dazzling grand opening celebration which will officially mark the next chapter for Walt Disney Theme Parks - and another 50 years of fun and magic.

About Hong Kong Disneyland
The Hong Kong Disneyland project was announced in 1999 as a venture between The Walt Disney Company and the Hong Kong SAR Government. With the completion of reclamation for Hong Kong Disneyland Phase I by the Hong Kong SAR Government, theme park and resort construction began in January 2003, with the project now scheduled to open on 12th September, 2005. At opening day, Hong Kong Disneyland will comprise a theme park and two Disney-themed hotels.
The Phase I build-out includes a projected 10 million annual visitor Disneyland-style theme park, 2,100 hotel rooms, and an area for retail, dining and entertainment. The project is estimated to create 18,000 new jobs at opening (both Disney and other employment) growing to 36,000 once the first park reaches build-out. The Hong Kong SAR Government estimated that the first phase of the project will generate a present economic value of HK$148 billion (US$19 billion) in benefits to Hong Kong over a 40-year period.
