Hong Kong Disneyland Magic Adds a Touch of Sparkle to Thanksgiving Celebrations
(HONG KONG, November 21, 2005) - Hong Kong Disneyland joined with the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Tsuen Wan Centre to spread holiday cheer with a Thanksgiving lunch for local families.
Part of the "Global Family Day", a Disney worldwide initiative which is celebrated every year on November 19, the event honors the work of the thousands of Disney VoluntEARS and their families' contributions to the community.
This year, Hong Kong Disneyland enhanced the event by organizing a heart warming Thanksgiving Family Fun Day that was shared with families from Tsuen Wan. Held at the Liu Po Shan Memorial College in Tsuen Wan, the hot buffet lunch featuring a traditional turkey and stuffing was followed by an afternoon of fun games for all the family to enjoy!
Hong Kong Disneyland director of food & beverage, Klaus Mager, who is also the Executive Champion of the Thanksgiving Family Fun Day, said: "Thanksgiving is the time when we remember the people who make our lives special. The Disney VoluntEARS and their families constantly strive to make a positive impact on our community."
"I would also like to thank Social Welfare Department and our co-organizer, the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Tsuen Wan Centre for their continuous supports; Also thank our sponsors for contributing to this meaningful activity, they are Bayern Gourmet Food Co Ltd, Fresh Channels Limited, FreshˇVCut Produces Ltd, The Garden Company Limited, Coca Cola , and last but not the least, Hong Kong Disneyland. They have certainly added to the fun and excitement of the day's festivities."
