Hong Kong Disneyland Kicks Off World Cup and Father's Day with Exclusive Merchandise

(HONG KONG, May 30, 2006) - Hong Kong Disneyland is the place to be this June as the resort joins in the worldwide excitement of the World Cup with an exclusive line of Disney-themed collectable merchandise, unique to Hong Kong Disneyland.

And on Father's Day (June 18), pay tribute to the most important man in everyone's life by taking dad out for a magical day at Hong Kong Disneyland where a range of Disney themed gifts are available for dad to feel even more special.

Football fever has hit Mickey Mouse in the first-ever specially designed World Cup collection. The world's favorite mouse wears a number 28 football shirt - a little secret referring to the year he was created. Children can also play a fun game of football using a red and white football featuring the Hong Kong Disneyland logo.

The World Cup theme continues as Mickey and Minnie Mouse are decked out in their favorite football playing outfits to feature on colorfully decorated tins/boxes of cookies and candies and on coffee mugs filled with rice crackers. Adults will also find many attractive items featuring the exclusive Hong Kong Disneyland football club logo.

Avid collectors and Disney fans can add to their pin collection with World Cup themed limited edition Disney pin sets. Presented in a collectable Hong Kong Disneyland Football shield-shaped box, the four pins feature the Mickey Mouse and his friends playing with a football through the themed lands of Hong Kong Disneyland.

Mickey Mouse kicks the ball through Tomorrowland as Minnie Mouse appears in Fantasyland to head butt the ball into Adventureland where Donald Duck takes a hit on the beak! Finally, the Disney friends are joined by Goofy to gather around the Hong Kong Disneyland Football Club logo.

Only 300 sets of these collector's items will be available and will be on sale from June 9 onwards from Town Square Photo located on Main Street USA.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, merchandise director, Phyllis Wong said: "We've put a great deal of effort into creating this unique set of World Cup merchandise which is first and exclusively launched in Hong Kong Disneyland. They are all particularly appealing to Hong Kong people who have such a passion for the game.

"We hope both fathers and sons will have great fun throughout the month not only watching the exciting football games together but also celebrating the upcoming Father Day's at Hong Kong Disneyland!"

Hong Kong Disneyland is offering a range of merchandise for Father's Day including wrinkle-free yet stylist shirts and ties fancifully decorated with Mickey Mouse, silver cufflinks tastefully etched with a Mickey Mouse shaped head and, for the avid golfer, tie clips in the shape of golf clubs.
