Secretary for Economic Development and Labour,
Stephen Ip, visits Hong Kong Disneyland

(HONG KONG, October 2, 2006) - Secretary for Economic Development and Labour, Stephen Ip, visited Hong Kong Disneyland today, 2 October 2006. HKDL Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Bill Ernest, welcomed Ip to the Park and briefed him on its operations.

Ip experienced personally the magical moments at Hong Kong Disneyland. He stopped by one of the Park's merchandise shops, the Emporium, and spoke to Guests and Cast Members who shared with him their unique Disney experience.

The party toke the Main Street Taxi for a nostalgic and leisure ride, and then toured the Park's three new attractions, Stitch Encounter, Autopia and UFO Zone, launched in July this year.

Ernest introduced to Ip the many highlights of the Park's first month-long Halloween celebration. Ip was greeted by Mickey and Minnie in their newest Halloween costumes in front of the giant Mickey pumpkin at the entrance to the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Ip also learned about measures that have been carried out to welcome guests from Mainland China during the Golden Week holidays. These include extension of park opening hours to 9:30 am - 9:00 pm from the current 10am - 7pm. Welcome Counters are set up with Cast Members to greet Guests and provide tips for them to enjoy their visit. A Magical Tips leaflet is available for guests' easy reference.
