Hong Kong Disneyland Announces Even More Pirate Fun
in the Lead-up to the Exciting Pirate Takeover!
(HONG KONG, April 25, 2007) - Guests can expect even more pirate mischief at Hong Kong Disneyland next month as the Resort today announced extended operating hours of Adventureland on weekends (every Friday & Saturday), and a host of new entertainment and treasure troves. The Pirate Takeover, which is included in the regular price of admission and designed to appeal to guests of all ages, will kick off on May 4 until June 30, 2007.
Pirate Takeover is a one-of-a-kind themed event that provides an authentic and immersive pirate experience for young adults, kids and parents. Enhancing the experience further, guests can take advantage of Hong Kong Disneyland's current ticket offers which include the HKSAR 10th Anniversary celebration program (those born in 1997 can receive a complimentary Deluxe Annual Pass); the Cathay Pacific - the "Buy 3, Get 1 Free" Hong Kong Disneyland travel package, and the Annual Pass program that allows unlimited visits to the theme park across three categories.
Senior Vice President of Marketing, Jill Estorino, and Vice President of Marketing, Maple Lee, shared details of the Pirate Takeover Weekend Excitement offerings at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel earlier today:
"We are delighted to announce that during the Pirate Takeover, weekend guests can enjoy their time in Adventureland until 9pm," said Ms. Estorino. "We'll also be storing more pirate treasures and gadgets from Jack Sparrow's personal supply throughout Adventureland."
"In addition, guests will be thrilled by new and exciting pirate performances, including the Flames of Adventure Fire Knife Show and the Pirate Limbo Jive."
This announcement means guests will be able to enjoy the authentic and immersive pirate activities in Adventureland for an extra hour, from 8pm till 9pm, on Friday and Saturday evenings. Guests visiting Adventureland on either of these days will also be able to end their night in true pirate style, with a special Pirate Farewell only available on weekends.
The Flames of Adventure Fire Knife Show is a pulse thumping spectacle on the Pirate Land Bridge. Guests can watch the pirate performers weave intricate and hypnotic patterns with their fire knives and be dazzled by their amazing feats of strength using their flaming weapons! Adventureland will be lit up like never before not once, but twice every night!
Pirates love loud unruly music, and in the evening the pirates will bring in their resident disco DJ and turn Pirate Land into a "Pirate Limbo Jive!". Guests can dance under the stars from one end of Pirate Land to the other as the funky and elaborately dressed pirate DJ spins the best pop mixes in tune with flashing disco lights!
Guests will be initiated by the pirates as authentic seadogs and can take photos with Jack Sparrow and his motley crew of pirates, as well as beloved Disney characters in Pirate Land. At the end of the weekend party fun, the pirates will give guests a fond farewell and wave them goodbye to enjoy the Disney in The Stars Fireworks Spectacular.
In addition to the extra pirate activities only available during the Pirate Takeover Weekend Excitement, Jack Sparrow has promised to show guests his ultimate treasures: movie props similar to those being used in the third movie in Disney's blockbuster trilogy, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End". These props, including Captain Jack Sparrow's compass, Captain Sao Feng's map and the key to Davy Jone's chest, will be displayed outside Professor Porter's Trading Post during the entire Pirate Takeover period.
The Pirate Takeover will run from May 4 until June 30, 2007 in Adventureland, and will allow guests to step back in time to a place where pirates reigned over the seas vying for treasure. It is a totally interactive experience which will immerse guests in a world of mischief, singing and revelry as pirate adventures are vividly brought to life.
During the Pirate Takeover, guests from far and wide will be able to participate in the fun and excitement. Young guests born in 1997 will be able to take advantage of Hong Kong Disneyland's HKSAR 10th Anniversary celebration promotion and redeem a Complimentary Deluxe Annual Pass (redemption period from May 15 until July 1, 2007) to enjoy free admission to the Park, as well as special offers available to other Annual Pass Holders. Annual Pass Holders can make the most of the pirate fun and visit the Park at any time within the Pirate Takeover event.
