2008 Little League Asia Pacific Tournament Draws to a Dazzling Close Guam Takes Asia-Pacific Champion Title
(HONG KONG, July 24, 2008) - The 2008 Little League Asia Pacific Tournament today drew to a close at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, with Guam securing a 5:2 win to take the 2008 Little League Asia-Pacific Champion title after a two hour long battle.
Hong Kong was the 1st runner up with a total of 80 points, the highest score among all 12 teams. CNMI Mariana Islands was the 2nd runner up.
At the closing ceremony, the Guam players received their Championship banner from Mr. Dave Vermeulen, Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland and Mr. Tam Hung Kong, Senior Leisure Manager (Sports Funding) of Leisure and Cultural Services Department; Mr. Michael Reiner, President, Hong Kong Little League was also in attendance. The Guam team will represent the Asia-Pacific region in the Little League World Series, which will be held in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

Held from July 19 - 24, 2008 on the baseball fields between the two Disney-themed hotels, at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, a total of 12 teams from around the Asia-Pacific region participated in the 2008 Tournament.
During the tournament, players stayed at Disney's Hollywood Hotel. In addition to being surrounded by the magic of this Art Deco themed hotel, players had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the high-energy entertainment experience, High School Musical: LIVE! at the Park.
