“Magical Year After Year” Chinese New Year Event

The Year of the Mouse is almost here! It’s going to be an especially auspicious year as it’s also the start of a new zodiac cycle, which only happens once every 12 years. From January 9 to February 9, 2020, there's no better place than Hong Kong Disneyland to celebrate the Year of the Mouse because Mickey Mouse – the world’s most famous mouse – is here to join in the fun! According to a Chinese New Year tradition, turning the Chinese character “fortune” upside down means great fortune will come to you. To bring more magic and fortune to our Guests during the Year of the Mouse, Mickey has turned all of Hong Kong Disneyland upside down!

Chinese New Year-themed decorations bring good fortune

As the best representative of the Year of the Mouse, Mickey Mouse has put a lot of effort into decorating the park for the new year. To ensure Hong Kong Disneyland is bursting with joy, he’s put up Mickey-shaped Fai Chun decorations, banners and pendants all around the park. Even the plants have been pruned to feature Mickey ears! The Disneyland Band and selected musical acts at the Disneyland Hotel will play Chinese New Year-themed songs in their sets in celebration of the Year of the Mouse!! What’s more, there are red packets for every Guest to bring them good tidings filled with love and fortune! From January 25 to 29, Guests can receive a newly designed Mickey-themed red packet that contains a chocolate gold coin and a dining and merchandise coupon (while stock lasts).

From January 25 to 27, take a walking tour on “Mickey’s Lucky Trail” to visit nine spots in the park filled with good luck to collect blessings for the new year. You can also get a chance to get two special seasonal stickers of Mickey and Minnie!
