The name Disney has become one of the world’s
most recognizable brands and is synonymous
with quality, timeless storytelling and enchanting
                                      characters.
This incredible worldwide organization is the
legacy of its founder, Walt Disney.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5, 1901
to humble means, the young Walt was hard-
working and determined. From an early age,
Walt had a fondness for drawing and studied art
and photography at high school, and he would
even sell his early sketches to his neighbors to
                                      make money.
As a young man, Walt decided he wanted to
become a commercial artist and was hired by a
small studio in Kansas City, Missouri to create
            advertising for a newspaper.
Here, he met a lifelong friend and artistic
collaborator, Ub Iwerks and it was here where
Walt had his first introduction to animation.
Walt was so taken with the medium, that he
persuaded his boss to let him borrow a camera
for the weekend to make his own cartoons.
