“The Happiest Kingdom of Them All,” Fantasyland is the heart and
soul of Disneyland — a celebration of the wonder and magic of Disney
stories and characters. If Main Street, U.S.A. is Walt Disney’s memory
of his childhood town, then Fantasyland is Walt’s fantasies, hopes and
dreams. It is home to the classic Disney storybook characters.
Fantasyland is fashioned after a quaint European village within the walls
of a storybook castle. The village is in the midst of a lively medieval fair
and festival, punctuated by banners, flags and a cheerful palette of colors
that brighten the land. The architecture, colors, ornamentation and other
design details are inspired by the classic Disney animated feature films.
