DISNEY’S ANIMATION MAGIC (P.1 TO P.6)
Primary students love this unique opportunity to unravel the secrets behind Disney’s world famous animation,
and delve into the rich artistry and history of the genre. After creating a thaumatrope, exploring their creativity
at the Animation Academy and more, students develop a newfound appreciation for this special art form!
Learning Objectives
Early Animation Toy making
Students will discover the link between early optical toys and the beginning of early animation
Learn about the legend of Disney’s Animation
Experience “Animation Academy”* and learn how to draw a Disney character using simple geometric shapes
Learn about Character Categories through activity
Discover the magnitude of the number of drawings needed to complete a full-length animated film through
kineographs and flipbooks activities
